Photographing the Kick Off of Cherry Creek West

We recently had the opportunity to photograph a milestone moment for East West Partners as demolition officially began on the long-awaited Cherry Creek West redevelopment. After years of planning, the first excavators moved onto the site, marking the transition from vision to reality for one of Denver's most significant mixed-use developments.

The demolition clears the way for Cherry Creek West, a 13-acre walkable neighborhood that will reconnect Cherry Creek Shopping Center with the Cherry Creek Trail. Plans for the development include hundreds of new residences, office space, retail, restaurants, and several acres of public open space designed to create a vibrant new destination in the heart of Denver.

From demolition ceremonies and groundbreaking events to ribbon cuttings and grand opening celebrations, documenting these milestones tells the story of a project from its very beginning. Our team was there to capture the ceremonial first swings of the excavators, the leaders who made the project possible, and the energy surrounding this historic day. It's rewarding to preserve these moments as organizations celebrate major achievements and share them with their communities, partners, and the media.
